My stay had some highlights and a few drawbacks. The wood-burning fireplace and views from the unit were simply amazing! However, the room had issues like missing blinds and malfunctioning locks that affected my overall experience. The staff was helpful and responsive, which I appreciated, but the cleanliness could definitely be improved, particularly in the common areas.

Rooms

The unit had everything we needed, including a full kitchen, a separate bedroom with a great king-sized bed, and a nicely appointed bathroom. However, the missing panels in the living room blinds and the non-functioning deadbolts were concerning.
Service

The staff was very helpful and responsive, especially during a minor maintenance issue we encountered. However, I felt that the housekeeping could have done a better job overall.

The location was great for accessing nearby attractions, and it was easy to get to Boone and Banner Elk. The mountain roads can be a bit tricky, especially after dark.

Overall, my stay had its ups and downs. The resort offers breathtaking views of the mountains, and it’s clear they’ve made some efforts to remodel certain areas which I appreciated. However, I encountered some significant issues with the cleanliness and condition of the unit I was in. The outdated furniture and appliances really dampened the experience, and the noise from neighboring units was a consistent distraction.

Rooms

The room showed signs of recent remodeling in some areas, but the furniture needs a serious upgrade. The living and dining areas were particularly outdated, making it uncomfortable to relax.
Service
7.0
The service was decent, with staff being responsive when I raised my concerns. However, it would have been better if the issues with the unit were addressed more proactively.

The location is fantastic for nature lovers. It’s right up the road from amazing hiking trails and beautiful waterfalls, making it a great spot for outdoor activities.
Dining

There wasn't a breakfast dining option on-site that I noticed, but the kitchen in the unit had most basic tools to prepare meals.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like the pool were nice, but I didn't get a chance to use them during my stay. The condition of the room was the biggest downside.

I had a mixed experience at this resort. On one hand, the stunning views and location by Sugar Mountain are definitely highlights, and the recent renovations made a positive difference. On the other hand, some rooms are still in need of repair and cleanliness was a concern in certain areas. Overall, it’s a place with potential, but it's not quite there yet.

The room I was assigned was a bit run down, with worn furniture and some cleanliness issues. It did have a full kitchen and a comfortable king-sized bed, but there were still signs of deferred maintenance.

We had a pleasant stay overall, but there were some issues that really stood out. The location was fantastic, and we enjoyed the space in our unit. However, the inoperable sofa beds were a major problem for us, and it seems like maintenance could use some attention to detail. The amenities were nice, but the resort feels like it could benefit from some updates.

The resort has a stunning setting, with beautiful views of the Sugar Mountain Valley that really take your breath away. The one-bedroom apartment was well-maintained and clean, providing a comfortable stay. However, some facilities need attention, and the lack of air conditioning makes summer stays more challenging. Although the kitchen was fully stocked, I did encounter a few maintenance issues that could have affected my overall experience.

Rooms

The apartment was spacious, exactly as shown in the pictures, with a full kitchen and a nicely appointed bathroom. The king-sized bed was comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep.
Service

The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they were quick to address any issues I had, including a toilet overflow situation. They even followed up to inform me of a refund for one night's stay.
Location

The location was absolutely amazing, very convenient for exploring the Banner Elk and Blowing Rock areas. The views from the room were breathtaking, enhancing the overall experience.
Dining

I appreciated having a fully stocked kitchen, which allowed me to prepare my own breakfast in the morning. This saved us time and made the start of the day easier.
Facilities
6.0
While the amenities were decent, I did notice that some facilities, like the indoor pool, showed signs of wear and tear that need to be addressed for a better guest experience.
